Tiffany Sax, a freshman at Newbury Park High in California, placed second in the girls varsity 3-mile race at the Marmonte League championship meet at Agoura High. Sax clocked 17:42.68, as Newbury Park had five scorers in the top eight to secure the team title, advancing to the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 prelims Nov. 13 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
